Implementation of penal code was delayed to imprison all opposition leaders- Ameen

Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has said that the government delayed the implementation of the penal code for three months to imprison all opposition leaders.
Ameen made this remark speaking at last night’s rally of the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement.
He said that the delaying of this bill has disappointed many people and many were looking forward for the implementation of the penal code.
Refuting the claims of some people that Jumhooree Party members will be not participating in the “Maldivians against tyranny” movement, Ameen said that Jumhooree Party works for the betterment of the people and the party will remain upon that.
He also denied the claims that Jumhooree Party leader is not participating in the activities against the government. He said that the Jumhooree Party leader will always remain with the people. He said that there is no reason for concern if the leader is not seen on street activities.
In addition to this, Ameen praised Mahloof for his courage and sacrifice by spending in prison for the sake of the people.
