Maldives India Friendship Youth Exchange Program to begin

The Maldives India Youth Exchange Program, part of the MOU on Corporation in Sports and Youth Affairs signed between the Governments of Maldives and India on 11th October 2015, will be held from the 22nd to the 30th of this month.
The main purpose of the program is to further enhance the relationship between the youth of the two nations.
Under the program, Indian youth will be made aware of the Maldivian culture and history and will create a platform for the youth of the two nations to engage in dialogue over key issues, via a Youth Forum conducted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economic Development, National Drug Agency, Hope for Women and Member of Parliament Abdullah Rifau will address the participants on various issues.
The Forum will be held on the 23rd of April 2016. Youth from India and Maldives will take part in the Forum.
Youth Ministry said once the Youth Exchange was concluded, youth from India will gain a clear insight into the lives led by Maldivian youth. Additionally, the Ministry said the discussions will facilitate further development in bilateral relations between the nations.
As part of the Program, 50 Maldivian youth will travel to India from 10-18 May.
