President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award for Public Service upon 97 recipients during the official Republic Day function held at the Maldives Centre For Social Education this morning, presenting them with commemorative shields and badges in recognition of their long-term service to the Maldivian State.
This honour, initiated by the President, recognises those who have served the State for more than 35 years, celebrating their competence and integrity in carrying out their duties, as well as their contributions to their respective institutions.
Those honoured have dedicated their service to the State, spanning 35 to 39 years. Earlier this year, during the Independence Day ceremony, the same award was conferred upon 94 individuals for over 40 years of public service.
The National Award for Public Service was instituted in 2021 as formal recognition of individuals who have rendered dedicated service to the State. The establishment of the award reflects the Government's commitment to honouring exemplary public service and underscores the importance of such acknowledgement at a national level.
Recipients are selected by the Committee on National Awards following a rigorous evaluation process.
During the ceremony, President Dr Muizzu extended his congratulations to all recipients, commending their enduring service and unwavering commitment to the nation.
