MP for Billeydhoo constituency Ahmed Mubeen have said that, former President Nasheed’s lawyers will always relate Maldives and ISIS in every statement they make.
Mubeen said that they have two goals to achieve by doing this. One is to wipe away the religion of Islam from the Maldives. The other reason they do this is to portray Maldives as a war torn country like Syria so that tourists will stop visiting Maldives.
He further said that Maldivians will never leave Islam and that Maldivians will sacrifice themselves on the path of the religion. He said that MDP wants to start a bloodshed in the country and everyone should carefully think about this.
Mubeen added that the opposition is working with foreign non-Muslim countries to impose sanctions on the Maldives. He called out all parties to refrain from engaging in such activities. Mubeen said that former President Nasheed’s presidency came to an end because he wanted to turn Maldives into a secular nation. He also noted that Nasheed made fun of the prophet Mohammed when he was the president.
