A speedboat crashed into a dinghy in Lh. Atoll on early Wednesday, resulting in injuries to five people, one of whom is reported to be in serious condition.
The accident, which took place near the Gaaeri Falhu, a lagoon in Lh. Atoll, was reported to the police at around 12:33 am Wednesday.
According to the police, a speedboat crashed into a dinghy which was carrying five people who were in the area to snorkel.
All five, identified by police as Maldivian males, sustained injuries in the accident.
The police have been informed that one of them sustained serious injuries, added a police spokesperson.
All five are being treated at the Lh. Aoll Hospital in Naifaru.
The dinghy they were on got damaged beyond use in the accident.
The case is under investigation by the police.
