The government has decided to conduct a 100 to 150 megawatt solar project in the Male' area.
In an announcement today, the Ministry of Finance said that a 100 to 150 MW solar PV energy plant project is to be commenced, with design, financing, construction and operations required.
The ministry announced seeking parties interested in taking on this project in late February, and have now decided to extend the deadline for submission of Expression of Interest (EOI).
The ministry said that they had received a large number of queries in response to their earlier announcement. With the queries now responded to, the ministry said they are extending the deadline so as to allow adequate time for interested parties to prepare and submit the required documents.
The ministry said that the project would include a battery storage system so as to level solar PV supply and grid demand.
The new deadline for submitting EOIs is 1pm on March 19.
