Maldivian musician Ahmed Adhuham has accepted an invitation to join Beyond Music, a Swiss-based international music collective.
Beyond Music, co-founded by the late Tina Turner and the Beyond Foundation, brings together musicians globally to create original music focused on social change.
Adhuham, the lead vocalist of 2ofus, will collaborate with artists, contribute to projects like Beyond Music’s Vol.5, and compete for a share of an USD 85,000 prize pool. His participation aims to promote Maldivian culture and music internationally.
"Being invited to Beyond Music is an honor and a milestone, not only for me but for the Maldives," Adhuham stated. "Music has the power to heal, connect, and bring change — and Beyond Music is the perfect platform to carry our voices to the world.”
Beyond Music is a nonprofit initiative that facilitates unity and cultural exchange through invitation-only collaborations. Its Vol.4 – Social Change project featured 78 artists from 41 countries on 23 songs, with guest artists including Angélique Kidjo, Pheelz, and Wiyaala.
Adhuham has performed across South Asia with 2ofus and has represented the Maldives internationally. 2ofus was recently shortlisted for Britain’s Got Talent Season 19 and Adhuham is the first Maldivian artist to sign with an international record label. He also advocates for youth empowerment and cross-cultural collaboration.
Adhuham is featured in 'The World Album,' which includes a song from every country. He performs a song based on his own music, which he wrote, sang, and composed. The recording took place in March, prior to 2ofus participating in the Battle of the Bands in India.
This inclusion aims to amplify Adhuham and Maldivian music on the global stage through Beyond Music’s platform.
