Telethon ‘Ceylon aaeku Dhivehin’ extended until Monday afternoon

The telethon entitled “Ceylon aaeku Dhivehin” will continue until 14:00 on Monday to provide assistance to those affected by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
The telethon began at 09:00 on Sunday and was originally scheduled to end at 01:00 Monday morning.
However, PSM Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Yamin Rasheed announced that the telethon had been extended. He explained that many people faced difficulties making transfers due to a technical issue with the Bank of Maldives (BML) app, and that several agencies had requested more time to participate.
“So we just have to give more opportunities. And a lot of agencies want to get involved,” Yamin said, adding that the extension also came in response to requests from the public.
So far, donations have reached MVR 3.24 million and USD 38,531, including contributions from agencies, associations, and companies, with some pledging large amounts.
