An official from the Atoll Council has stated that numerous serious allegations have surfaced and are currently being investigated against Abdulla Assadh, who holds the position of Director General of the Hdh. Atoll Council.
According to the Atoll Council official, one of the issues raised against the Atoll Council’s Director General involves alleged changes made to the agreement for the renovation of the State House—a building used by the Atoll Council to generate income—in violation of the Atoll Council’s decision. The official noted that when the State House renovation agreement was signed by the Atoll Council and handed over to a party for repair, several changes were introduced in violation of the agreement, resulting in significant financial losses to the public funds of the Atoll residents.
Furthermore, among the points highlighted by the official regarding the submitted issues are:
*   The allegation of misuse of Atoll Council property, specifically the accusation that the Director General took the key to a room in the State House, claiming it was closed for renovation, and misused the room for several months.
*   The allegation of traveling on the Atoll Council’s launch without paying the required fees.
*   The allegation that the State House is currently being used arbitrarily for the personal needs of his family.
*   The allegation of exerting influence over the Atoll Council’s projects.
*   The allegation of using the Atoll Council’s vehicle (motorcycle) for personal purposes for many years in violation of regulations.
Additionally, the issues include allegations of misusing his employment, exerting influence over Civil Service positions recruited for the Atoll Council, and causing irreparable damage to the residents of Hdh. Atoll through the misuse of his position.
The official also mentioned that some matters related to the State House have been highlighted in the Audit Report, and the Director General has now been instructed to be accountable for the losses incurred due to his actions. The Atoll Council official further stated that the identified issues have been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
