(Addu City Hulhudhoo) Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb has said that Addu City’s Gan International Airport will be made “truly International” before the end of this year.
Speaking to the people of Hulhudhoo today، Minister Adheeb said that ground works of the extended section of the airport have already been started.
Minister Adheeb is one of the delegates of a large state delegation، which arrived at Addu City this afternoon.
“With the will of The Almighty، we will develop Gan International Airport into a truly international airport despite any criticisms that come our way. We will finish this before the end of this year”، Minister Adheeb proclaimed.
Minister Adheeb added that talks about bringing international airlines to Gan International Airport are being carried out.
“When the airport is finished، airlines such as Srilankan Airline will start their flights from Addu and these talks are progressing” said Minister Adheeb.
“Then soon you will hear at a grand ceremony in Male’، that the President has announced a project to increase the nuber of tourist beds in Ismehela. Our promise to develop Addu will be fulfilled” added Minister Adheeb.
Adheeb mentioned in his speech that this is the first time a state delegation this large has visited Addu.
