Maldives، an example of how tourism develops a nation- Minister Adeeb

Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb has stated that Maldives is an example of how a country and its people are benefited and developed from tourism.
Speaking at the inaugural of UNWTO Regional Ministerial Conference held at Bandos Island Resort، Minister Adeeb stated that tourism is a sector where a country is developed economically.
Adeeb indicated that in the past year more than 1.2 million tourists arrived in Maldives، which correlates with the target of the government. He asserted that it is a gain of 11 percent when compared to 2013.
Speaking further about the tourism sector، Minister said that he aims to achieve as much as possible from the sector and investments in the tourism sector will continue without a halt.
Adeeb highlighted on the proposed projects by which the tourism sector of the Maldives will develop، such as guest house project in Laam atoll Bareshoo، extension of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport، and Hulhumale’ second phase development- Tourism District and Yacht Marina Project.
Since some of the nations of the Asia Pacific is totally dependable upon tourism sector، Minister Adeeb stated that agriculture and fishing industry benefits from tourism sector.
In his speech، Minister asserted that tourism sector needs to be maintained in order to achieve the best from the sector.
