A two year old local boy has been found dead with serious wounds in Vaavu Atoll Rakeedhoo.
Rakeedhoo Council President، Adam Saamee said they found the boy dead at a local residence in Rakeedhoo at 11:45 on Wednesday، following a report of an incident.
“Serious wounds are visible on the outside، as a result of an assault. However، we can’t say the reason of the death is due to an assault.” Saamee said.
He said the boy was taken to Rakeedhoo Health Post upon learning of his death. The boy was under the care of his mother، who has been admitted at the Health Post following the death، Saamee said.
He further said the funeral and burial of the boy have not been proceeded as the Police have not reached Rakeedhoo to investigate the matter further.
Vaguthu has been informed the child was physically abused by the mother before. She was advised by the Ministry of Gender due to the incident.
Police Media Official said an incident of finding a two year old boy dead at Rakeedhoo was reported to Police at 12:10 on Wednesday.
 
A 27 year old woman was arrested by Police on Tuesday evening for physically harming her four year old son، in Baa Atoll Eydhafushi، Police Media Official reported.
