The new non-resident Ambassador of Switzerland to Maldives،Mr. Heinz Walker-Nederkoorn، has called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon this morning.
At the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry، Minister Dunya welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment.
Foreign Minister Dunya noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and Switzerland، and discussed ways of further strengthening the existing ties between the two countries، especially in the area of climate change.
The Ambassador assured his commitment to working with the Government in strengthening the relations between the two countries and increasing cooperation between the two countries in various areas for mutual benefit.
Mr. Heinz Walker presented his credentials to the President Abdulla Yameen on Thursday.
