Sustainability of the Ocean Not a Choice, But a Necessity

The Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam has insisted that ensuring the sustainability of the ocean is not a choice but a necessity for the island nation.
In a post on social media to mark World Oceans Day, Minister Shiyam said the ocean is not only part of Maldives’ blue economy, but infused in its lifeline, culture and lifestyle.
