National Youth Conference opens with focus on shaping youth policy

The National Youth Conference will begin on Monday, bringing together young people from across the Maldives to discuss key challenges facing youth and contribute to future policy direction.
Organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts in collaboration with the Presidential Youth Advisory Board, the two-day conference will take place on 22 and 23 December at the Youth Hub in Malé. A total of 93 participants from diverse professional, social and community backgrounds are expected to take part.
The Ministry said the conference is aimed at identifying priority concerns of young people, exploring practical solutions and gathering views to inform the development of a comprehensive national youth policy. Participants will engage in workshops across six thematic areas, allowing for focused discussions and the formulation of actionable recommendations.
The outcomes of the conference are expected to contribute directly to policy planning and decision-making related to youth development. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony, underscoring the Administration’s emphasis on youth participation in national development processes.
