In the last year 11 resorts, 135 guest houses were registered in Maldives : President Yameen

President Yameen has said that in the past year 11 resorts were registered in 6 atolls and 135 guest houses were registered all over the Maldives.
Delivering the annual presidential address, the president said that this year 25 new resorts will be opened in Maldives and in the past three years 20 resorts and a tourist hotel was opened. He said that this year 25 resorts will be opened in 13 atolls and a tourist hotel will be opened in in Ga.Koodoo. The president said that with all these resorts, the number of tourist beds will increase by 5274.
In addition, the president said that since tourism plays a huge role in the economy of Maldives, the government gives a high priority to increase investments in the sector to increase the revenue received to the state from the industry.
Opening 50 new resorts is a pledge President Yameen made to the people in 2013.
