Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced that the bank will start to issue VISA Debit cards to all customers starting from 6 July 2014.
BML restricted the release of new VISA Debit cards to US Dollar accounts in November 2010.
The national bank said in a statement that effective from today until 6th July 2014, the bank will focus exclusively on issuing VISA Debit cards to students living abroad and to those planning to leave for higher studies.
Customers can withdraw daily amounts of up to MVR 10,000 from BML ATMs using Visa Debit cards, $200 from ATMs abroad and $400 through Point of Sales (POS) transactions.
