Steering committee of Help Gaza has stated that the telethon will be held in all islands of the Maldives.
Speaking to the media, the member of the steering committee, Ibrahim Khaleel said that the committee will welcome initiative from all people from all islands. He said that the participant islands will be announced to the public during the telethon.
“The events will be carried out as per the direction of the people. We are trying to arrange participation wherever you are in Maldives. We are trying to arrange donation through mobile phone,” he said.
Khaleel said that the local media joined together for this noble cause on behalf of all the people of Maldives.
“The local media has done much to the nation. And we have seen good results. We are assured that this event will be welcomed by the public,” he said.
Speaking at the press conference, Ibrahim Manik said that many government companies and organizations have been participating in the fund raiser. He said that staffs of some companies have decided to donate their salary for that day.
Ibrahim Manik expressed hopes that local private companies will also participate in this event.
