The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has unveiled plans for a large-scale promotional campaign in Germany ahead of the ITB Berlin 2025, one of the world’s leading travel trade fairs.
As part of this initiative, 200 taxis in Berlin will be wrapped with Maldives-themed advertisements, marking one of the most extensive outdoor marketing efforts undertaken by the Maldives tourism board. The campaign will run from February 7 to March 13, aligning with major events such as the Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) and ITB Berlin, which are expected to draw over 600,000 attendees.
In addition to the taxi advertisements, the campaign will include high-visibility billboards at key locations during the Berlinale, aiming to capture the attention of film enthusiasts and international visitors. The objective of these efforts is to reinforce the Maldives as a top-of-mind destination for German travelers and further strengthen the country’s brand presence in the market.
Alongside the outdoor promotional efforts, MMPRC will actively engage with the travel trade industry during ITB Berlin 2025. The corporation plans to host a series of seminars and panel discussions on industry-related topics while also participating in IMM Germany, a dedicated media networking event that connects tourism professionals with journalists and influencers.
Germany remains one of the top five source markets for Maldivian tourism, underscoring the importance of targeted marketing efforts to attract more visitors from the region.
