The vacancy at the Criminal Court opened after the court’s chief judge Ahmed Shakeel transferred to the High Court.
Judges at the Criminal Court receive a monthly basic salary of MVR 30,000, a living allowance of MVR 15,000, and a risk allowance of MVR 3,300. They also receive medical insurance and a phone allowance at the discretion of the Parliament.
