Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office), on Friday, reported that rain is forecasted for central and northern Maldivian regions today, adding rain has improved visibility across the country.
Maldives has been experiencing hazy conditions since December: a common phenomenon in December and January when the Hulhangu Monsoon transitions into Iruvai Monsoon.
An official from Met Office told Sun on Friday that haze-related poor visibility improved after rainfall on Thursday, with current visibility at 10 kilometers.
However, the official cited the possibility of visibility dropping again once rain ceases.
Weather worsened on Thursday after a long period of sunny days. Met Office has forecasted rainy weather in central and northern regions for the next three days.
In this regard, Met Office said northern atolls will see scattered showers and thunder.
Winds in the central and northern regions will range from 13 to 23 miles per hour, and in the southern regions between seven and 17 miles per hour, with gusts of 35 miles per hour during showers.
Rough seas have been forecast for central and northern regions today, with moderately rough conditions in the south.
