A plot of land has been leased for a long-term period to conduct fuel business in HDh. Nolhivaranfaru.
The Nolhivaranfaru Council decided to lease this land with the objective of expanding fuel services on the island and increasing economic opportunities.
According to the Nolhivaranfaru Council, the agreement to lease the land for fuel business was signed with Geo Wave Private Limited.
Regarding the lease duration, the agreement is scheduled to officially commence on February 5, 2026, and will expire on February 4, 2056. This spans a total period of 30 years.
It is expected that this project will establish a system to provide easy access to fuel for the residents of Nolhivaranfaru and for vessels traveling in the region.
Furthermore, this is noted as a significant step toward the development of the island and increasing the council’s revenue.
