A man has been arrested from Male’ for assaulting a sitting judge.
The 49-year-old arrested in the case was presented before the Criminal Court for his remand hearing on Tuesday. The court remanded him into custody of the police for five days, after he said he wishes to hire legal representation.
Court documents show the suspect has a history of assault, and that it is also the second time he assaulted the same judge.
However, the court documents do not specify who the judge is.
