The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has opened applications for 200 new row houses on Thinadhoo, running from September 7 to November 7, 2025.
Interested applicants must submit their entries through the official “Hiyaavehi” portal: hiyaavehi.housing.gov.mv.
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Maldivian citizen aged 18 or older.
- Must be a registered resident of Thinadhoo or have continuously resided there for at least 10 years.
- Must not own a building of 600 square feet or larger, or any housing unit from existing government housing schemes.
The Ministry also stated that applications will be evaluated based on factors like family size, living conditions, and special needs, with established point-based criteria used to assess applicants. Applications submitted with false information or duplicate benefits will be rejected.
These are three-bedroom row houses being offered as part of the government's public housing expansion program. Construction began in 2022, and the housing scheme was initially announced earlier this year but had been delayed to await proper coordination with the Thinadhoo City Council.
