Dr.Muhammad Shaheem Ali Saeed has resigned from Adhalath Party after having differences in opinion with the party leadership for over three years. He said that he will continue to serve Islam even if he leaves AP.
Dr.Shaheem’s relation with Adhalath Party got worse because AP leadership started forming relations with MDP and supporting MDP activities. Dr.Shaheem always said that he will never have anything to do with MDP.
There are reasons for this decision by Dr.Shaheem. During MDP administration, the government announced that Dr.Shaheem, Sheikh Imran and Sheikh Adam Shameem are terrorists and even published about them on the official website of the president’s office.
They faced various problems because of that. In addition, MDP started a special program to defame religious scholars and Dr.Shaheem was their main target.
Even though Dr.Shaheem is resigning from AP today, he contributed immensely to the development of the party. He even respected decisions made by the party.
Dr.Shaheem’s role as Islamic Minister should also be noted. He even resigned from MDP government after disputes over various religious issues. Since Dr.Waheed’s administration Dr.Shaheem was the Islamic Minister. He resigned from the post to respect AP’s decision and not because President Yameen asked him to do so.
He said that it was one of the most challenging decision of his life to resign from that post. Dr.Shaheem said that the problem was not resigning from the post but it was always his desire to serve Islam.
On 14th of this month Dr.Shaheem wrote a letter to AP requesting to remove him from AP membership register.
