Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that MDP and Jumhooree Party will remain with the people in all circumstances.
MDP President Mohamed Nasheed made this remark speaking at the joint rally of Jumhooree Party and MDP held at Alimas Carnival last night.
Nasheed said that the legitimacy of the government is lost the moment Jumhooree Party left the government coalition. He said that there is fear that the journey embarked by the people towards democracy might get lost. He said that if they remain silent then an independent election cannot be held in 2018.
However, he said that the people will remain firm and with a strong resolve. He said that MDP, JP and the JP leader Gasim Ibrahim will remain with the people.
Nasheed said that the current government is despotic and does not consider the needs of the people.
