Ministry of Finance have said that, they have sent the next fiscal year’s budget to the parliament.
The media official of Finance Ministry said that they have sent the budget to the parliament and it will be presented to the parliament floor on Sunday. However, the official said that he cannot reveal any details of the budget. According to some other sources, the budget was sent to the parliament on last Monday and the budget is a total of 27 billion Rufiyaa. This is 1 billion less than this year’s budget.
This year’s budget was 27.5 billion Rufiyaa. According to this year’s budget the government expect to get 22.8 billion Rufiyaa as revenue and aid. As per estimates of the government the budget deficit for this year will be 3.4 billion Rufiyaa. (6 percent of the GDP). However, by last September the government received 11.39 billion Rufiyaa as tax so the budget deficit is expected to be higher than that.
