Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has called on local banks to provide financial assistance to youth interested in developing and building their own businesses.
He made the statement speaking in the session held with local businesses in the meeting in IGMH Orchid Hall.
Minister Saeed said a new round of the GetSet loan scheme will be introduced soon and will provide assistance to youth to start their own businesses.
He said the President wished to see youth educated and self-sufficient, with more youth involved in business. The Minister said the GetSet program was not sufficient to start a substantial business, adding that banks can address this issue.
The GetSet program has created new businesses, as stated by the Minister.
