Managing Director of CMEC Shi Jin Tao made the statement, speaking in the signing ceremony to initiate the project to build 1,500 medium income housing units on the new land that has been reclaimed in Hulhumalé second phase.
Tao said that the company has been engaged in development projects across the Maldives for the past 10 years and in a clear position to understand the needs of the public.
“CMEC is a company of Chinese Government. We are satisfied with our work in the country. In 2012, we created 1000 housing units. The work on the 1500 housing units will be completed by end of next year. Today we sign an agreement to create 1500 more housing units for Maldivians,” he said.
Tao said that every Maldivian wished to be a land owner and that the company wished to make this dream a reality. He noted the various projects instated by the Government to improve the lives of the public, noting that the housing project was by far the most important one.
