National Security Committee of the Parliament have approved the former Commissioner General of Customs، Ahmed Mohamed as the new Ambassador-designate of Maldives to India.
The motion was approved by all the members presented in the committee meeting held on Sunday.
The Parliament will take a vote on approving Ahmed Mohamed as the new Ambassador-designate of Maldives to India، in the Parliament session on Monday.
Ahmed Mohamed was appointed as Commissioner General of Customs after President Yameen took the Office of Presidency in November last year. He was later appointed as Ambassador-at-Large، at Ministerial-level، in Ministry of Foreign Affairs، in September this year. He was also Minister of Economic Developments during President Dr. Mohamed Waheed’s Administration.
Current Ambassador-designate of Maldives to India is Foreign Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs، Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed.
