His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for the State of Qatar this morning on an official visit.
The visit is being undertaken to pay his respects to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and the Royal Family following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Amir of the State of Qatar, yesterday.
Other foreign dignitaries are also expected to arrive in Qatar to join the Royal Family in mourning the late former Amir.
