Flyme operated by Villa Air has stopped their flights to except A.D. Maamigili and B. Dharavandhoo.
Managing Director of Villa Air, Rilwan Shareef told Sun Media today that the flights were stopped due to the company’s financial situation. And so Flyme would only travel to Maamigili and Dharavandhoo.
“At the moment we stopped (the flights), due to our situation we have to reduce our operation, we are trying to travel to Maamigili and Dharavandhoo.” Rilwan said.
He also said that there would be a few flights to other destinations.
Qasim Ibrahim’s Villa Group has said that due to their financial situation, they don’t know when they could give the salary of over 5000 employees.
Maldives Inland Revenue Authority has frozen the accounts of Villa Group claiming that the company hasn’t paid MVR 1.4 billion owed to the state. But Villa says that there isn’t any money in those accounts.
