Nasheed to Lanka again, visit to be longer this time
Former President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed, currently in self-exile to the UK, has arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The former President arrived in Colombo this morning where he was welcomed by the International Spokesperson of MDP residing in Colombo, Hamid Abdulgafoor and a former Minister in the MDP government, Ahmed Naseem. Speaking on Raajje TV, Naseem said that the ex-President’s visit will be longer this time around as he would be holding discussions with a number of political figures. He made a stop in Sri Lanka before going to the UK. This is President Nasheed’s fourth visit to Colombo since he acquired political asylum in the UK.
