Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s appeal case on his arrest warrant from 22nd February 2015 has been thrown out of High Court today.
The High Court resolved to dismiss the case after President Nasheed refused to enter the courtroom for the first hearing of his appeal case.
Nasheed refused to enter the courtroom in protest because the hearing was disclosed only to close family، and not generally to the public.
It was reported that Nasheed kept saying he would not enter the courtroom unless the hearing was generally open to the public.
Meanwhile، holding closed hearing which are not generally open to the public is a procedure followed at the High Court on cases regarding arrest warrants.
