Former president and the leader of the opposition، Mohamed Nasheed’s arrest is an issue which cannot be accepted، says the opposition parties MDP and JP.
On a joint-statement released tonight، MDP and JP said Nasheed’s arrest is unacceptable and the charges pressed against him are for a political gain.
“It is a move to discriminate the political competitors. Nasheed should be released.”
In addition، MDP and JP urged everyone to join them.
Former President and the leader of the opposition، Mohamed Nasheed was apprehended today by the Police on terrorism charges for imprisoning the chief justice of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed during his presidential term.
