Hisaan: Next in Qasim case is debating the evidence

Lawyer Hisaan Hussain has said that the next part of the trial of his client, the Leader of Jumhooree Party, Qasim Ibrahim, in the charge of bribing MPs, is the debate on the evidence. Talking to the press after the long hearing today, Hisaan said that the next hearing has been set for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday by the Judge at which the both sides will talk about the evidence. He said that they have notices that the prosecution is not giving a response to Qasim's defence. The JP Leader, Qasim Ibrahim told the press that the presiding judge told the court today that the hearings are being held behind closed doors because the court employees and judges are receiving death threats. Qasim said that it was being done by someone else. Qasim Ibrahim was charged with bribing MPs and following a speech he made at the JP hall during which he said that if the MPs that left JP and joined PPM returns, he would ensure that they get the JP ticket for re-election in 2019. Aside from bribery, the JP Leader has two other charges against him. The trials for those charges are yet to begin.
