A hearing in the trial of South-Galolhu constituency Member of Parliament Ahmed Mahloof has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m on Tuesday.

Mahloof, upon receiving the letter addressed to him by the Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) had taken to twitter on Monday night.
In his tweet he wrote that the letter highlighted that no such complaints had been filed at the MCS regarding Mahloof’s case.
Said charged were raised against the parliamentarian for a tweet he had posted in mid-January about medical negligence in jails and accusing relevant authorities of murdering inmates. He had written that detainees are not dying in Maafushi island prison but are being killed. He had mentioned that authorities are killing them by denying them necessary medical treatment going on to say that it is a serious issue when 10 detainees die in prison within a year.
“Commissioner Shiyan and DOP Salman must take responsibility. I don’t know how many times I’ve made this complaint while I was in prison” Mahloof had said.
