Maldives Launches Integrated Case Management System to Digitise Judiciary

An Integrated Case Management System has been launched to digitise the operations of the judicial courts of the Maldives.
The Integrated Case Management System, developed by the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA), was officially launched by the Chief Justice, Abdul Ghanee Mohamed. The Criminal Court is the first to adopt the new platform.
According to DJA, the newly launched system supports President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s digital transformation vision of “Maldives 2.0”. The system has been designed in line with international standards.
The DJA said the case management system is designed to be integrated with the case management system of the Prosecutor General's Office, enabling the Prosecutor General’s Office to submit cases to the Criminal Court online. This system will facilitate faster exchange of documents between the agencies and significantly reduce the time required to register cases, the DJA said.
The digital system will also ensure the accuracy of the information, and make it easier to verify the identities of those involved in cases.
The Chief Judicial Administrator has previously emphasised the importance of digitising the work of the courts. The digitisation of court documents will optimise court space, speed up and enhance services provided to the people.
