Mariyam Shiyama, a Maldivian woman from R. Fainaa, has tragically passed away while performing Umrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Mariyam departed for Umrah on July 27 under the care of Hajj Corporation. Details regarding the cause of her death have not yet been disclosed.
This marks the second death of a Maldivian performing Umrah within the past two weeks. Last week, a Maldivian man also passed away while undertaking the pilgrimage.
