Missing man from Nadella found from uninhabited island

A man who went missing in GDh. Nadella, shortly after arriving on the island via boat, had been found from an uninhabited island.
Maldives Police Service on Monday said the missing individual has been identified as one Adam Ibrahim, 34, originally from HDh. Nolhivaram. Police added that Adam went missing after he stepped on Nadella, shortly after the boat he was travelling on, ‘Ithubaaru’, had docked around 14:00hrs on Sunday, May 11.
Police added he was reported missing, around 22:25hrs on Sunday evening, after he did not return to the boat and did not make any contact afterwards.
A team of police officers began rescue efforts shortly after receiving the missing report, and had checked Nadella as well as surrounding uninhabited islands. Police confirmed finding Adam around 16:45hrs on Monday afternoon, and added he was in good health.
As part of the rescue efforts, 10 uninhabited islands within Nadella’s lagoon were checked.
Police however, did not provide additional details on how he went missing or did not contact anyone. The authority added that they are looking into the matter.
“We are conducting an investigation into the matter as there are other aspects of the incident that needs to be investigated,” police said.
