The Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo has presented cash checks and gifts to recognize the children who achieved top ranks in the second round of the Quran memorization program for children. The program, named “Noor of Hearts” (Hiththakuge Noor), began in March of this year and is structured in three rounds. In each round, students who successfully recite the designated portion of the Quran from memory within the specified period are awarded a cash prize. In this program, students who completed the first round were presented with a gift and MVR 500.00 (five hundred Rufiyaa) by the committee. Furthermore, students who qualified for and completed the second round were given a gift along with MVR 700.00 (seven hundred Rufiyaa). In addition, the Ihavandhoo WDC has decided to award a cash prize of MVR 1,000.00 (one thousand Rufiyaa) to those who complete the third round of the competition. The Ihavandhoo Council and the Women’s Development Committee are working to foster a love for the Holy Quran in Ihavandhoo, promote the art of Quranic recitation, and produce high-quality students capable of reciting the Quran at a national level.
