In addition to the petition presented by to President Yameen، the locals of Raiymandhoo had attached a letter highlighting the adverse conditions under which the locals are living. The letter، focused on the island’s gutter system، which is still not in place. Also the island receives electricity from Fenaka Corporation through the old electricity premises، and Fenaka has not been able to deliver another generator for the island due the absence of a shipping dock in the island.
The letter also emphasized that due to the absence of a shipping dock، vessels travelling en-route to Male’ do not dock in the island and this creates certain difficulties for the island in receiving their needed goods.
The petition presented to President Yameen had signature from a total of 146 locals holding Raiymandhoo residency، who are above the age of 18.
Copies of this petition has been delivered to Economic Council، Social Council and to Housing Ministry.
