The court has granted detention periods of ten days for the Maldivian and Frenchman arrested in relation to the Artur brothers case.
A police media official said today that the two people are suspected of various crimes, but it was not possible to provide more information due to the type of case.
The Frenchman Sargsyan and Maldivian Ahmed Nishan handed themselves in while search efforts were ongoing for them by the police. Another suspect, Ahmed Vishaal, remains at large.
The Artur brothers are suspected of working with senior politicians around the world to conduct various criminal activities including drug trafficking. Chairman of Artur Brothers Holdings, Artur Sargsyan has now departed from the Maldives.
