President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)
Jin Liqun has assured the support of AIIB to facilitate the development projects of Maldives and expressed hope that some of the projects can begin as early as this year.
He has assured as such in a meeting with Maldives Foreign Minister Dr. Muhamed Asim today.
During the meeting, Minister Dr. Asim stated that Maldives was one of the founding members of AIIB. The Minister briefed the President of AIIB on the pipeline projects for which the government of Maldives has formally requested the assistance of AIIB.
Ambassador Muhamed Faisal, Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary, Bilateral and members of the Maldives delegation also attended the meeting.
