State Minister Ahmed Farish Maumoon has said that the government will make all processes easier for foreign investors.
Farish made this remark speaking at the meeting held with the Association of Chinese Chambers Commerce in Malaysia (ACCCIM).
Farish said that the necessary amendments of the law are being made to make things easier for the investors. In this regard, he noted the Special Economic Zone bill passed and ratified on September. In addition to this, he highlighted that the government is working to rectify the company Act and investment act.
Farish said that these laws will be amendment at international standards and the rights of the businesses and foreign investments will be considered when amending these laws.
The State Minister said that 19 investments have been registered in the past year for works in outside the tourism industry. And agreements have been made to invest more than 630 million US dollars in Maldives.
He said that the aim of the government is to make Maldives the most investment friendly country in the region.
