Former Speaker of the Parliament Abdullah Shahidh has stated that Maldives had failed in the international community and that failure had occurred due to the numerous lies the Government had given.
Shahid stated that Maldives was greatly respected in the international community. However, he said that this had greatly changed in the past years, mainly due to the lies and the pledges the Government had failed to meet.
Shahid said that European Union (EU) was an international organization, which emphasizes on fairness and justice. He added that EU’s concerns were regarding the illegal, unconstitutional acts perpetrated by the Government.
He added that the participation of the citizens was critical in changing the situation of the country. Shahid stated that EU was willing and had given the guarantee to assist in changing the situation of the country.
