The Maldivian government has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a military convoy in northwestern Pakistan, which claimed the lives of at least 12 soldiers and injured several others.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives extended its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, as well as to the government and the people of Pakistan. The statement also wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in what it described as a cowardly act of violence. 
The Maldives reiterated its firm stand against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and underscored its strong commitment to working together with bilateral and multilateral partners in the fight against global terrorism.
