Youth Award Nominations Open Across Broad Spectrum of Civic Endeavour

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts has announced the launch of nominations for the 2025 Youth Award, a national honour recognising young Maldivians who have made significant contributions to the country’s development. The initiative, now a fixture in the ministry’s annual calendar, will spotlight achievements across fourteen categories aligned with key national priorities.
Established to elevate the role of youth in public life, the Youth Award serves as a formal commendation for individuals whose work reflects civic responsibility, innovation and leadership. Recipients will be presented with a commemorative award and an official certificate, acknowledging their impact on the nation’s progress.
This year’s categories span a wide range of disciplines, including business and the economy, arts and culture, drug abuse prevention, vocational training, mental health advocacy, environmental protection, gender equality, empowerment of persons with disabilities, promotion of the Dhivehi language, technological innovation, tourism development, and infrastructure and construction.
In addition to these categories, the ministry will confer a special honour under the title of the Shaheed Jawad Umar Memorial Plaque. Presented by the ministry, this distinction recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing and empowering youth in the country.
Nominations must be submitted by 1 p.m. on Monday, 29 September 2025. Application forms are available through the ministry’s official website, a designated Google link (shorturl.at/cuIXw), and in person at the reception desk of the Maldives Centre for Social Education. Physical submissions will be accepted on working days, excluding public holidays, between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. To ensure broader accessibility, the ministry is also accepting applications via email at [email protected].
