Hulhumale' Hospital's General Practice Clinic in Hulhumale' Phase II, a densely populated area, has commenced 24-hour operations.
Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, CEO of Male' City Group of Hospitals (MCGH), announced on X that the clinic, situated in Hiyaa Tower 16, will now provide continuous services. Haleem also noted that the clinic had previously expanded its services to two shifts on April 23 of the preceding year, as part of broader efforts to enhance the health sector.
He added that this expansion of services fulfills a pledge made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The clinic will operate 24 hours a day, with the exception of Fridays.

With an estimated population exceeding 30,000 in Hulhumale' Phase II, the extended service hours are expected to significantly benefit residents by offering greater convenience. Haleem emphasized that families in the area will now have consistent access to reliable healthcare at all times.
To address the issue of prolonged waiting lists for medical consultations, the government has allocated funds for the construction of 15 new General Practitioners Clinics this year. Upon their establishment, these clinics will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, who will then be referred to super-specialist and specialist doctors as needed. This systematic approach is intended to streamline the referral process and reduce waiting times for specialist appointments.
