Agreements signed to build police stations in over 70 islands

Agreements have been signed to build Police Stations in over 70 islands.
Building police stations in over 70 islands has been contracted to three government companies, a statement issued by the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology said. Agreements were signed with RDC, Fenaka and MTCC last Thursday.
Construction of these 75 police stations are to be commenced within the year, with some due for completion before the year ends. However, the prices at which the projects were awarded to the three companies have not been revealed yet.
Under the agreements, Fenaka Corporation will be building 40 police stations, RDC will be building 20 police stations, and MTCC will build 15 police stations.
The ministry said that this is the biggest infrastructure development project undertaken within the Police Service's 91 year history. They said that when the project reaches completion, police services will be available in all inhabited islands, with Police having their own stations in half of them.
The ministry stated that when this administration had come to office, Police had their own stations in only 17 islands. As Police services were not available in 70 islands, this project is a key step towards establishing peace ad protection.
